A turnover ceremony was held last 04 October 2010 at the Intramuros Room hailing SMS Teofilo S Sapla PA as the new Command Sergeant Major (CSM). Passing the torch was the Acting CSM, SMS Felipe E Parayno PA. The activity was presided over by the Commander, PSG, COL RAMON MATEO U DIZON PA (GSC).

          SMS Sapla is a 51-year old military serviceman who was born in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur. Prior to his assignment in PSG, he was the Sergeant Major of the HHSG, Philippine Army.

          It is interesting to note that the new CSM is not new to PSG. He was a PSG trooper from July 1988 to January 2001 and rendered his service to three different units; the PSG Training School (PTS), Special Reaction Unit (SRU), and Presidential Escorts (PE).

          SMS Sapla is married to Mrs Maria Elena S Sapla and together they were blessed with four children namely, Christine Grace, Mary Rose, Choy Lester, and Tyrone Lester.
